John Pultz
Senior Consultant
You might not know John Pultz, but his colleagues say you’ll want to. “Everybody loves John,” they say, while adding with assurance, “You’ll love him, too.”
Known as the “Director of Fun,” this businessman and expert in customer service, training and education demonstrates that it is indeed possible to enjoy work, succeed at it, and inspire others to do so, too.
John’s strengths in sales merchandising, profit and loss, customer service and mentoring have made him an asset to every position he’s held. His list of accomplishments includes running the most profitable and customer-focused retail stores anywhere. Early in his career, John joined Albertsons Inc. and became store director quickly, where he was responsible for the entire store, including food market procedures and personnel operations. He also played a public relations’ role while there.
John served as Vice President and Director of Retail Education and Training for Fred Meyer Inc. from 1997 to 2000, before joining Rite Aid as VP of Training and Customer Service. He served in that capacity until 2007. The customer service and recognition programs he instituted at both organizations are still in place, which is a testimony to his ability to understand both people and operations.
Family and associates say that John has a knack for “reading” people and seeing their potential. And while others may be self-focused, he pours himself into helping others succeed. Many of those that John has mentored have attained high leadership positions. His love for life, strong faith and selflessness are strong influencers in the work he does in the community. He serves as an auctioneer for United Way and Children’s Miracle Network fundraisers. He’s also the VP of his homeowners association. Along with auctioneering, his favorite pastimes include reading, working in the yard and listening to motivational material. Typically vibrant and joyful, one subject puts more sparkle in his eye than any other: his family. John has been married more than 30 years and has two children and four grandchildren.
