Mike Navarre
Senior Consultant
Mike has a deep desire to grow as a person and a leader, and he’s successfully shared that passion and inspired outstanding performance in others throughout his career as an educator, coach and developer of leaders.
As a member of WCW Partners, Mike’s emphasis is leadership development. His greatest thrill is watching others increase their productivity, and he’s most proud of helping and supporting others’ personal and professional growth – which is his passion as a personal and executive coach.
One of Mike’s specialties is the Strength Deployment Inventory® (SDI), a self-awareness tool that helps clients to improve relationships and manage conflict. It is particularly useful in leadership development and team-building, where Mike’s expertise and experience really shine.
As head coach of the women’s soccer team for Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, since 1999, Mike has built the program into one of the best in the Midwest and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. With Mike at the helm, his players have consistently achieved excellence on the field and in the classroom, and they are inspired to use what they’ve learned to better their communities and the nation once they launch their careers.
Nearing his completion of a Ph.D. in Sports Psychology, Mike is also an instructor at the college. His doctoral research focuses on the impact that coach-athlete and teammate relationships have on an athlete’s performance and sport’s experience, including leadership preferences. This insight helps Mike foster positive chemistry within groups and work with his clients to build effective interpersonal leadership and relational skills with men and women.
Prior to his coaching responsibilities, Mike served as a graduate assistant for the prestigious women’s soccer program at the University of North Carolina, the team was national champions and runners-up during his time there. In addition, Mike has been heavily involved as a coach in Minnesota youth sports, including the Minnesota Olympic Development Program.
Although he has many achievements, Mike still rates peace of mind and the courage to “follow my bliss” as his values and priorities. When he’s not coaching or consulting, Mike enjoys spending time with the person he most admires, his wife Marta, and their two children and friends. Mike’s hobbies include playing hockey, reading, and traveling.
