Thanks for your observations Lucia. You’re lucky to have had the experience of working with an effective coach. As you said, a good coach helps you to gain “insight into your own development.” We often don’t see our own growth as clearly when we’re charting the course on our own. The interaction with an “outside observer” who is committed to helping us can allow us to gain the non-attached perspective that allows us to see ourselves and our accomplishments through fresh eyes. And, it is a gift to get the experience of receiving effective coaching because it does provide perspective on the possibility of doing effective coaching ourselves. Come back and see us again. Doug

Doug, Great advice to anyone thinking about becoming a coach. Although I think about that, sometime in the future, I did have the opportunity to have a coach while working on my MBA at Capella. It was a great experience to work with her and one that gave me so much insight into my own development but also into what it would be like to possibly be a coach someday. Lucia
